The Experts

Dr. Glenn Larkin MD, DABFM Pathologist, based in North Carolina, specialising in US criminal cases. Dr. Larkin has never testified in the Skinner case, either for the defense or for the prosecution. His views can therefore be viewed as entirely independent expert testimony.

Dr. Elizabeth Peacock M.D. Pathologist, specialising in disease pathology - performed the autopsies on all three victims and was called to testify at trial by the prosecution. Dr. Peacock graduated with an MD degree from Texas Tech University in 1987 and was the pathologist for Potter & Randall County (for two years), residing in Amarillo, Texas, during which period she was called upon to work on the Skinner case. At trial, Dr. Peacock stipulated that whilst working in Amarillo she performed between 25 and 30 autopsies per month.

Glenn Unnasch Latent print examiner for the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory, Austin. At the time of the trial, Unnasch had served in that role for 23 years. Mr. Unnasch was called to testify for the prosecution.

Joe Tarpley Occupational Therapist, specialised and certified as a hand therapist. At the time of trial, Mr. Tarpley was a member of the American Society for Hand Therapists and was managing a clinic in south Arlington, Texas. Mr. Tarpley was called to testify for the defense.

Dr. William T. Lowry M.D. Toxicologist in a private practice. Dr. Lowry has had a long and distinguished career. He graduated three times,

*1965, East Texas State University, major in physics and chemistry, minor in physics
*1967, East Texas State University, major in organic chemistry, minor in biology
*1971, Colorado State University, PhD with a major in chemistry and toxicology.

Performed post doctoral work with liver detoxification mechanisms. Worked with FBI criminal investigation laboratories, initially as a physical science technician, and later as a special agent. Was offered and accepted a faculty position at University of Texas southwestern Medical School Department of Pathology, worked for the attendance staff of Parkland Hospital in emergency toxicology, worked for the Institute of Forensic Sciences and finally, in 1985, set up his own private practice. Dr. Lowry agreed to testify on behalf of the defense.
